Many of us saw videos on the news last week of Haitians scrambling for food relief in the aftermath of the recent hurricane. Unfortunately, these scenes tend to repeat themselves year after year. This short article highlights some of the challenges working towards long-term solutions in Haiti, where a frequent stream of emergencies dominate the news headlines and where long-term solutions are complex and less likely to make the news.
